"There is a choice you have to make in everything you do. So keep in mind that in the end, the choice you make, makes you"  John Wooden

So What Is Pictures For Progress?

Pictures For Progress is a modern day marketplace for photography where proceeds from the sale of each image go to a charity that strives to make the world a better place.

The philosophy behind Picture For Progress’ mission is rooted in the “butterfly effect” phenomenon, whereby even the most minute change in one area can create a large impact elsewhere. We believe that by even making the choice to participate, as an artist contributor or a buyer, you are creating and reinforcing a promising shift in how our world views the global benefits of charity, support of the arts, and how we can all come together to become the positive change we want to see in the world.

The photographers will be curated from all walks of life from children to professionals and those in between. They too will benefit by receiving a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their images.

Not only do we endeavor to build a new way to give to charitable causes, we feel it is important to support the photographers who partake by reinvesting spiritually and financially in both the global community and economy.

"Exercise your purchasing power as a consumer, volunteer and bring joy to those in need, and share your experiences, tell your stories, and inspire others along the way."   Blake Mycoskie

How Does Pictures For Progress Work?

From the sale of each image, 20% of the gross proceeds will go to a charity chosen by the customer from a list of pre-selected charities. Additionally, a percentage of the gross proceeds will go to the contributing photographer in an effort to provide income to those who share in our vision and hopefully it pays itself forward in a number of ways emotionally and financially. We hope contributors and patrons will continue to reinvest in the global community and economy.

Like life, we're keeping things fluid. The charities listed will change and hopefully grow, as will our contributing photographers. But we're starting here, now, in the belief that we will reach the place where artists from around the world from young to old, professional to amateur, anonymous to celebrity, will come together to use the power of the image to create change worldwide for causes big and small.

Together, we can ask the questions that matter and help those who are developing solutions receive financial and emotional support  as well as greater public awareness for their cause and hard work.

"The meaning of life is to find your gift.                                                                                       The purpose of life is to give it away."  Pablo Picasso

Why Do It?  What inspired Pictures For Progress?

The basic concept was the result of asking ourselves the following questions:

What do we love?

How can we make the world a better place?

The Answer: We love to help and we love photography.

Then we asked ourselves: what would happen if we put helping others and photography together to answer how to make the world a better place?

Pictures for Progress was the result.
